X is Now an Ex
At CAAGe we were monitoring closely as events unfurled on the social media platform X.
It was becoming more and more of a cesspool of racism, misogyny and victim blaming. For a while we wasted time effort trying to combat some of it. And we wanted people to be able find us. And there are some great advocates on the platform still, with whom we were communicating.
These were great, operational reasons to stay.
But the news that platform's AI chatbot, Grok, was generating sexual imagery without users' consent, deep fakes, was the final straw.
Like many others, we no longer feel we can support the platform by being there.
We’ve left our profile live so that we can still be found and we can occassionally check in to see what’s happening, but are no longer active there and refuse to direct anyone there via our website.
