UK Parliament buildings

If any of the issues on this site resonate with you, to help change the law and raise awareness, please write to your MP - or even go and see them.(Find your MP)

If you can't find their constituency office, you can write to them at: The House of Commons, Westminster, London, SW1A 0AA.Or to send an email, there's a service that allows you to email directly, and the only thing you need to get started is your postcode: Write to them.

Your MP may well then take this up with The Secretary of State for Justice on your behalf. Although you will probably receive a reply signed by the Minister, it will have been dealt with  by a civil servant, but when enough letters are received, they'll raise it with the MP. Many MP's have websites that will allow you to send an email message direct to the constituency office.

Direct emails are likely to be more seriously received - and hand written letters ('snail mail') even more so:

  • Address it to the MP's name followed by 'MP' eg Joe blogs MP

  • Keep it polite.

  • Explain why you think this is an important issue.

  • Point out that every adult over 16 in their constituency has no protection from grooming. It's important to have a local angle.
